Window dressings can be a beautiful addition to any room in the house, for instance french door blinds, but with curtains you a proper curtain rod from which to hang. In today’s market, rods can be as varied as the fabric that is draped on them. Depending on how casual or elegant the room is decorated, curtain poles can be casual or elegant as well.
A fancier type of window dressing deserves to be hung on a more elaborate rod, such as one made of wood or wrought iron. Much depends on the type of curtain panel that is being hung along with the elegance of the room furnishings. For a very casual look a metal curtain pole, such as one made out of aluminum, may be used. But for a more elegant approach, a polished or antique brass rod would look very nice, or even one with a traditional wood finish.
Certain window dressings have a rod pocket designed into the fabric panel and the support rod just slips inside for hanging at the window. Other types of window treatments will use rings or hooks with which to hang the panels from the rod. Personal preference will dictate which type is chosen, as either style can be equally attractive at the window.
Poles can also have accessories added to them in order to dress them up even more. Decorative finials can be attached to the rods at the ends to give them a stylish look. The pole itself may be of a decorative or twisted design and in a variety of colors. Fancy draperies can look even more elegant when accompanied by attractive wall sconces that complement the color and style. And decorative rods can be found to properly adorn all types of window sizes and dimensions, including bay.
When decorating the windows, do not go to great effort to get a beautiful fabric and then just place it on a simple rod. Go the whole distance and dress up those windows with beautiful poles as well.
